7th grade paper engineers

I had the opportunity to attend the MAEA conference this past weekend with about 500 other art teachers from Michigan.  While there, I was able attend a workshop with Robert Sabuda, native Michigander and world famous Pop-up book artist.  He shared three pop-up techniques with us and I shared those with the 7th graders.  They are designing, engineering and creating pop- up sculptures and cards.  They are learning there is so much you can do with a piece of paper!  Imaginations are on fire today!

Happy Day!

6 th graders finally got their monsters back today!! Now they are filling out rubrics and smART sheets to complete project.

Students are busy trying to meet deadlines. They have a project due today and the next two Wednesdays.  They must turn in their coil or slab box today. The other piece is due next week and the face jug is due the third Wednesday.  The final exam project will be introduced the beginning of next week.  Time is coming to a close quickly and we have much to finish before Thanksgiving.
